How To Set Goals Effectively

The saying never gets old that time surely does seem to fly. It’s as if we were just starting off the 2018 year and now we’re so close to finishing it. This is a raw reminder that time waits for no one and to not waste this gift of time. It is better to try and miss the mark than to not try at all.

So let’s take a recap:

You most likely made a list of goals to accomplish at the beginning of the year and like most, there are still many items not achieved yet so you may feel some type of way. Am I close?

First, pat yourself on the back for even making goals to pursue. Writing down your goals is one of the first steps to being serious about what you are striving for.

The next step after writing down your goals is to constantly review and revisit them so that it stays fresh on your mind and you take steps towards achieving them. So 4th quarter is here and many of the goals you’ve made have not been achieved. It may not seem like it but it’s really ok!

Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.
— Tony Robbins

There are approximately 90 days left in 2018 so what now? Keep working! This is a great time to analyze your goals and their timeline.

  1. What are your goals? (Re-evaluate - Is this still what you want?)

  2. What is the timeline?

  3. Have you mapped out the necessary steps to achieving your goals?

  4. Set up checkpoints and dates to help keep yourself on target.

  5. Work on your goals daily

  6. Pat yourself on the back for each accomplishment

It may not seem like you’re moving fast enough or that you should’ve arrived at your goal sooner but some things are out of your control. As long as you are working diligently and taking the necessary steps to advance, then you are on the right track!

Jewel: A lot can happen at the end of 90 days! In fact, a lot can happen in 30 days so stay motivated and focused on the end goal!
